How to destroy the World

How to make food lose its taste :   First add one drop of sorrow to every bite.   Make sure it is mixed in well and if there are any lumps whatsoever, leave them.   They really help add to the texture and make every morsel sluggish as they try to lodge in your throat.   Serve it cold, like the shoulder of your lover in a crowded room as she passes you by on the arm of another person.   There can never be too much salt.   It will dry out the food and make chewing feel like your mouth is wandering through a forbidden and lost desert.      How to cool the sun :   First make sure you tell the one you love that you can live without them.   Make sure they believe you, and go on living your life as if nothing in the entire world could possibly affect you.   Smile to your friends and enemies, and lie to everyone who ever cared for you.   Make sure you throw in the occasional night of passion with persons with whom you are ...

Her Him Me

Her .   I drove by his house this morning and saw your car parked out front.   It was at this point I realized you were not coming home, and for the first time I feel a sense of peace.   A warmth came over me, and suddenly the nausea and dizziness were gone.   I could admit to myself that you were happy.    That never made sense before this, but a smile cracked my lips, and like never before, I felt joy and pride all wrapped into one.   I was able to let go so you could find out who you really are, and that made me content.   The long nights we had lain awake and talked about our future; our children, our hopes and dreams - they were nothing more than a gift I had been given in which I could say, I was there with her, and we were in love. I could tell the world that although a brief period in my life, I was loved by an angel.   I was wanted in fits of passion.   I was needed in times of distress and unknowing.   I gave sound advi...

The Nightmare

A gasp broke from my lips and a sharp pain seemed to well up from the depths of my being.   The door slammed and the walls shook with all the feelings of vengeance and passion.   Then I heard it.   Like a paper-thin sheet of glass flicked by a fingernail, it rained down on the cold dry pavement.   Pieces of my heart bounced and shattered as they scattered across the room.   I could see every piece glisten like diamonds as the sun shone through the skylight in the roof.   My stomach seemed to come alive with every creepy crawly creature, moth, and butterfly.   My eyes welled up with tears and the sting of a thousand bees pierced my sight.   I could see only lights and shadows. But the tears - the tears would not separate.   They seemed to be on a tether and stretched down my face, but again refused to separate from my eyes. From outside I could hear the car engine turn over, only seconds after hearing the heavy white door close with a th...

The Family Story

With this I promise to make you smile, cry, and want to hug your family.  But most of all I want you to think about what you have and who is really important to you.  Not friends, co-workers, or acquaintances, but your family. The ones who will come to see you when you’re sitting in a jail and you’re as guilty as a priest.  The ones who fart in bed and waft the covers so you can join in their experience.  The ones, who really know everything about you, love you anyways, and they really just love you.  So here we go, and hang on ‘cause I’m probably going to gently jerk a few tears from your already moist eyes.  First I have to tell you all about my oldest, Tatiania.  She is beautiful, kind, and gentle.  She loves her whole family and is not afraid to show it.  Tatiania is the definition of KIND.  She has barely a mean bone in her whole body and she is so very quick to point out the good in people.  She is one I can trust to pray fo...

The Woman

The morning was crisp and she couldn’t remember what woke her so quickly.   It was Sunday and the Sabbath had passed.   There was a horrible task to be done, and she wanted to make quick work of it.   This would be most unpleasant, and even as she thought of what must be done, tears filled her eyes.   She walked quickly down the rock path and was brushed on both sides by brush and tall verbascum.   Through her sandals she could feel every stone and pebble and she marveled at how alive she felt despite her chore.   The sun has just broken the horizon behind her.   Already the beams of light were warming her long dark robe and the nape of her neck.   A breeze was blowing in from her left side and her exposed forearms and hands chilled with goose bumps.   Her long dark hair blew in her face and strands became caught in her moist eyes, causing her to have to blink them away. The walk was not far, but away from the village enough, so that th...
